Great Dane

Aurora the Great Dane - 12/18/17

Yaaaay!  Another foster so called failure, actually a tremendous success.  Aurora definitely feels like a princess these days as she will be staying with her foster family.  This is wonderful news for this black Dane girl.  Julie and Nicholas have fallen in love with and bonded with Aurora and she with them. She couldn't have a better family to grow old with.  These are two real large dog people.

Tux the Great Dane Mix - 12/18/17

Tux the Great Dane Mix has the most amazing present under the tree this Christmas. This darling boy came into rescue looking for a perfect home. His foster family worked with him and watched him become an amazing dog. As such, they have decided Mr. Tux is going to stay with them for life! Janet and Stephen of Newalla, Oklahoma are singing from the rooftops about this boy. He will join BDHP alumni Dax and Sasha.

Annie - Great Dane - PENDING ADOPTION

Annie was surrendered to the shelter by her owner because as she and her sister grew they ran out of room for the girls. Annie is an 8 month old, black Great Dane who has unfortunately not been well socialized or given much interaction. She is very sweet, a bit shy at first, however, she warms up quickly and loves to be petted once she is comfortable.

Molly II - Great Dane - PENDING ADOPTION

Molly was surrendered by her owner to a shelter because as she and her sister grew they ran out of room for the girls. Molly is an 8 month old, blacK Great Dane who has unfortunately not been well socialized or given much attention. She is very sweet, a bit shy at first, however, she does warms up quickly and loves to be petted once she is comfortable.

Belle the Great Dane - 12/17/17

So, as a 9 year old, gorgeous Great Dane (thus my name Belle) I couldn't be any luckier than being adopted by a Vet Tech!  We all know that as we special Danes approach our golden years we need a little more care than the little gals...you know, getting up once down, some extra stuff maybe for pain and to help those old bones and last but not least, what we all need, a tender, loving family.  My new sister, a Bassett Hound, and I will go to work every day with Ka

Julia the Great Dane - 12/16/17

Julia the Great Dane checking in. Hurricane Harvey was devastating, and I was one of those left behind during the storm. But my story has an amazing, happy ending, thanks to Casey in Denver, Colorado… because she adopted me! She previously owned a Great Dane and is a previous BDHP adopter. Her home felt empty without a Dane in it, and I'll be happy to fill that void! I have a six-foot fenced yard to zoom around in, and a very experienced giant-breed owner to share my new life with. Thank you for the Cinderella story, BDHP, and thank you, Courtney for fostering me!

Rocky the Great Dane - 12/15/17

WWWooohhhhoooo! Rocky, the 18-month-old Great Dane, has a forever home with Don and Lisa in Evergreen Colorado. He had a rough start in life and did not know what it was like to be inside on a cold day or to feel the love of a mom and dad. Now, He will have both! He will also have 2 fursiblings to play with and show him the ropes.

Gabbana - Great Dane - PENDING ADOPTION

This beautiful 2-year-old Harlequin Great Dane is Gabbana. We suspect she was someone's loved companion at one point but somehow she ended up lost and in a shelter as a stray. She doesn't appear to have much formal training but true to her breed she is eager to please, treat motivated, and catching on fast. She is good with other dogs, seems to be afraid of cats and not super fond of chickens.

Lexi - Great Dane - PENDING ADOPTION

Lexi is a wonderful pup who found rescue in the nick of time. This sweet girl, at only 6 months of age, has already had a terrible start to life. Lexi was beaten and had a shock collar used on her by her previous owner and thankfully she was given away and ended up in a local rescue who transferred her to us.

Salt the Great Dane - 12/5/17

Salt the Great Dane is getting the best Christmas present ever! After this darling girl came into rescue, her foster family worked hard along with the guidance of one of BDHPI's behaviorists to make her feel comfortable as a result of some pretty severe emotional issues. After spending time with her and watching her come out of her shell and learn to feel safe, the family has decided she is staying put. Anne and Jeffrey of Rio Rancho, New Mexico have fallen in love with Salt. She will join their dog and two cats in a wonderful, loving family.
