Great Dane

Obi - Great Dane (new to rescue - under evaluation)

Obi is a very handsome, 1 year old, merle Great Dane who is coming to us as an owner surrender. Obi is a wonderful boy who is house trained, leash trained, crate trained and knows many basic commands. He has been well socialized and loves to play and go to doggy daycare. He is great with kids and cats also having lived with both previously. Being a young boy he hasn't quite earned his free roam wings but he is great in his crate.

Lace the Great Dane - 12/31/17

Lace, not delicate as we think of the fabric, is still a bit reticent.  This 7 year old Great Dane hasn't had the best life to this point.  She was left at a shelter and hadn't seen a vet before that.  But, now thanks to Lauren of Albuquerque, New Mexico, a critical care nurse, she will have a wonderful forever home where she can blossom for the rest of her life.

Idgie - Great Dane (new to rescue - under evaluation)

My name is Idgie and I'm a 5-year-old female Great Dane, a beautiful Harlequin, and I'm hoping to find a new home after I was a victim of a sad divorce situation. I'm a good girl - I'm house-trained, leash-trained, and trustworthy with roaming free around the house. While I haven't had any formal obedience training, I do know the "sit" and "stay" and "shake" commands - pretty impressive, wouldn't you say?

Chardonnay the Great Dane - 12/29/17

I'm Chardonnay the Great Dane, and I'd like to toast BDHP for finding me my wonderful new home! I've been adopted by Brittany of Lakewood, Colorado, and she adopted another Dane from BDHP some time ago. Her boyfriend also adopted from BDHP, so they know the fine organization well! Her Dane unfortunately passed away from cancer, and her heart was ready for another Dane… so here I am! I hope I can fill the void in her life - I'll certainly try!

Graceland the Great Dane - 12/27/17

Graceland the Great Dane found her forever home just in time for the holidays! She'll be living with Mark in Longmont, Colorado, an experienced large-breed owner. She will be joining Dakota, a two-year-old and much-loved female Great Dane, in the household. She will meet new friends on walks, at doggie daycare, and will have an amazing bigger sister to pal around with.

Odin the Great Dane - 12/26/17

Odin, our Harlequin Great Dane, and Tilly, a Newfoundland Ruth adopted from BDHP last year, are about to become siblings and live an amazing life together in Colorado Springs.  They will get to know each other and form a bond.  These are two very lucky dogs to be adopted by such a dog loving, responsible woman.

Thor - Great Dane - PENDING ADOPTION

Thor is an approximately 1 year old, blue, male Great Dane who has had a rough life so far. This sweet boy was dumped and on the run for 6 weeks before his guardian angel was able to gain his trust and catch him. He is the epitome of a gentle giant who is friendly with all other dogs and children. He is a bit scared but he is coming out of his shell daily.

Belle the Great Dane - 12/22/17

Aileen from Littleton, Colorado saw Belle the Great Dane on the BDHP Website and look what happened! Happy adoption! She lost her Dane a while ago and has been looking to adopt another from BDHP - and is looking for a companion Dane for Belle, too! Sweet Belle will join two cats in the household, she'll have a great backyard to play in, and plenty of friends that will visit her at home. Have a wonderful life, Belle!

Oakley - Great Dane

We big dogs sometimes get a bad rap, you know? My name is Oakley, and I'm a 3-year-old male Great Dane. I'm a big fella at about 132 pounds, but I'm also here at BDHP through no fault of my own. Let me explain. I was hanging out with this cranky little Chihuahua, and he liked to attack me. I mean, this guy was not nice. Finally, I got fed up and I reacted to defend myself. That was apparently strike one against me, though I put up with an awful lot before that time!

Deacon the Great Dane - 12/19/17

Deacon, the 7-year-old Great Dane, has a forever home with Susan in Denver, Colorado. Never again will he be left alone or get lost and be hungry and cold. Deacon will also have Midge, his fursibling, to keep him company and show him the ropes. Susan is an experienced rescue / giant breed owner who will love Deacon the way he so deserves.THANK YOU, D'ARCY & JASON, FOR FOSTERING THIS BIG BUDDY!
