This regal, gentle 8-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees Mix is Bode (now called “Leo” for Leonidas). He is looking for a place to call his own after his owner’s circumstances changed. He would be best as the only dog and he is truly a gentle giant. when it comes to people True to his breed he will calmly and quietly patrol the property, mark his territory, and will bark to alert. If he smells something interesting he will dig but can be redirected. He knows sit, down and come; however, as in independent thinker he needs to see the “reason” behind the command. He enjoys being outside and loves to go for shorter, gentle walks and smell the roses along the way. As one can imagine at this age, he has some mild stiffness, but is able to navigate steps without any issue. He is very calm, gentle and laid back, though if he needs to be the back up to get the squirrel out of the yard, he can move very quickly and with purpose. Also true to his breed, he is a heavy seasonal shedder. The Furminator (for long hair) will work very well for his needs, and he is very easy to groom. He enjoys having a job to do and experiencing new things (like new places to walk/explore). He has the most steady, calm, gentle “care-giving” temperament you can imagine, and he would love to have a quiet, laid back home where there is someone home more often than not.
